Position

An opportunity has arisen for a Dietitan at University Hospital Ayr

What you will do:

An opportunity has arisen to join our team of Dietitians working in Diabetes across Ayrshire whilst based in South Ayrshire. This is a specialist post where you will contribute to the structured education programmes delivered by the area wide MDT e.g. STEP, DAFNE, Group Consultations, Injectable Therapies, Diabetes Remission using the Counterweight Plus programme currently. The main area of focus will be Diabetes Remission using the Counterweight Plus programme currently. In addition you will deliver group structured education programmes as part of the area-wide MDT.

Experience and training in the specialist aspects of Diabetes treatment modalities is desirable however a keen interest is essential

In addition you will support uni-professional and Paramedic practice placements.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

  • Degree/postgraduate diploma in Human Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent; essential.
  • Registered Dietitian with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC); essential
  • Significant general clinical dietetic experience preferred.
  • Experience of mentoring/supervising junior registered and unregistered colleagues including students; essential.
  • Training in the management of complex enteral and parenteral nutrition preferred.

Hours: up to 37 hours per week

Consideration will be given to flexible working and flexible location requests however the post base is within University Hospital Ayr.

UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership: UK driving licence/Car ownership is essential to this role.
