Job description

Diabetes Clinical Nurse Specialist, Shetland

This role involves working alongside the Lead Diabetes Specialist Nurse to deliver care across NHS Shetland.

Position Details:

• Full Time – 37 hours per week
• Band 5 - Salary Range £33,247 - £41,424 per annum (during development)
• Band 6 - Salary Range £41,608 - £50,702 per annum
• Distant Islands Allowance of £2,380 per annum

Requirements:

• Experienced nurse with previous medical experience
• Knowledge of evidence-based care
• Excellent communication, IT, organizational, and teaching skills
• Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team

The successful candidate will receive full support from the Lead Diabetes Specialist Nurse and will have opportunities to develop advanced clinical skills. After completing set clinical competencies as a Band 5, the post holder will undertake additional training to progress to Band 6, approximately 12 months from appointment.
