We are currently recruiting for an Infrastructure Platform Engineer (On-Prem/Cloud) Consultant to join our team on a permanent basis. This role will be based on-site.

Requirements

• Develop, manage, and support the infrastructure underpinning platforms, applications, and data supporting the business.
• Automate processes to enable rapid, secure delivery of capabilities to various environments.
• Experience in developing Infrastructure as Code to automate infrastructure from development to production.
• Passion for improving workflows and adopting best practices by understanding customer needs and market trends.
• Ability to understand stakeholder needs and communicate effectively to diverse audiences.
• Review and test code written by others, ensuring governance and quality standards.
• Ensure systems are secure against cybersecurity threats, following secure by design principles and NCSC standards.
• Manage platform security, including secrets, tokens, and certificates, whether on cloud or on-premises.
• Collaborate with business, architecture, engineering, security, and data teams to ensure proper development and delivery processes.
• Plan projects and participate in project management decisions.
• Design, secure, and maintain on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Make informed decisions, explain reasoning clearly, and resolve technical disputes.
• Communicate complex technical information simply and accessibly across organizational boundaries.
• Expose data via APIs, link systems, and deliver streaming services.
• Understand and document deployment risks and integrate security features into the software development lifecycle.
• Identify security risks and implement mitigation strategies and controls.
• Monitor infrastructure security and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Detect vulnerabilities early and deploy secure software swiftly, adhering to standards and regulations.
• Increase visibility into security risks and threats.
• Experience or familiarity with agile delivery methodologies.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

• Experience collaborating with security teams.
• Solid infrastructure design experience for on-prem environments, including migration projects.
• Experience with hybrid on-premise and cloud architectures.
• Knowledge of a broad range of technologies, able to assess and recommend solutions, and develop innovative approaches within constraints.
• Strong understanding of software change/release management and technical governance.
• Proficiency with containerization platforms (Kubernetes, PKS, Docker), provisioning tools (Ansible, Terraform, YAML), and performance analysis.
• Experience with functional and non-functional testing.
• Experience automating deployment of applications, databases, and infrastructure.
• Understanding of GDS standards across project phases.
• Knowledge of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and their implications versus bespoke solutions.
• Ability to provide training, support, and mentoring.
• Experience managing live systems, incident triage, and issue resolution.
• Experience with Terraform, YAML, automation tools, monitoring, and security tooling (SAST, DAST, Trivy, SonarQube).
• Experience with on-prem DevOps tooling.

This role requires security clearance, including completion of a Baseline Personnel Security Standard check. Details will be provided during the interview process.
