We are currently recruiting for an Infrastructure Platform Engineer (On-Prem/Cloud) Consultant to join our team on a permanent basis. This role is based on-site.

Requirements

• Develop, manage, and support the infrastructure underpinning platforms, applications, and data supporting the business.
• Automate processes to enable rapid, secure delivery of capabilities to respective environments.
• Experience in developing Infrastructure as Code for automation from development to production.
• Passion for improving workflows and understanding market trends and customer needs.
• Communicate stakeholder needs effectively to target audiences.
• Review and test code written by others, providing approval within governance processes.
• Ensure systems are secure against cybersecurity threats by following security-by-design principles.
• Familiarity with NCSC secure design principles.
• Manage platform security across cloud and on-premises, including secrets, tokens, and certificates.
• Collaborate with business, architecture, engineering, security, and data teams to ensure process adherence and proper functionality.
• Plan projects and contribute to project management decisions.
• Design, secure, and maintain on-prem/cloud infrastructure.
• Make informed decisions, explain reasoning clearly, and resolve technical disputes.
• Communicate complex technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Expose data via APIs, link multiple systems, and deliver streaming services.
• Understand and document deployment risks.
• Integrate security features into the software development lifecycle.
• Identify potential security risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Implement security controls and monitor infrastructure for threats.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.
• Detect security vulnerabilities early and deploy secure software swiftly.
• Follow security standards and regulations for better compliance.
• Increase visibility into security risks and threats.
• Experience or familiarity with agile delivery methodologies.

Ideal Candidates will demonstrate:

• Experience collaborating with security teams.
• Strong infrastructure design experience for on-prem environments, including migrations.
• Experience with hybrid on-premise and cloud architectures.
• Technological versatility and ability to assess best tools and approaches.
• Knowledge of software change/release management and governance.
• Experience with containerization platforms (Kubernetes, Docker), provisioning tools (Ansible, Terraform, YAML), and performance analysis.
• Experience with functional and non-functional testing.
• Automation experience for deployment of applications, databases, and infrastructure.
• Understanding of GDS standards across project phases.
• Knowledge of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS and their implications.
• Ability to train, support, and mentor colleagues.
• Experience managing live systems, incident triage, and defect management.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary project teams.
• Proficiency with Terraform, YAML, and automation tools for deployment.
• Experience with application monitoring and security tooling (SAST, DAST, SonarQube).
• Experience with on-prem DevOps tools.

This role requires or involves willingness to obtain Security Clearance. Candidates will need to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard check during onboarding.
