Job summary

Flight Centre Travel Group seeks an exceptional DevOps Manager with 12-15 years of leadership experience to scale our global DevOps practice. You will lead distributed teams, champion automation, and drive a culture of continuous improvement across multi-market technology landscapes.

Ideal candidates will have advanced Azure DevOps and expert Datadog skills, strong IaC experience (Terraform, ARM templates, Bicep), and strong scripting abilities (PowerShell, Python, Bash).

Qualifications

• 12-15 years of progressive DevOps leadership experience in complex enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated success establishing DevOps operating models and driving organizational transformation.
• Advanced-level expertise with Azure DevOps, including process templates, governance and community leadership.
• Expert-level knowledge of Datadog observability platform: full-stack monitoring, logs, APM, and IaC tooling familiarity.
• Strong understanding of IaC tools (Terraform, ARM templates, Bicep) and CI/CD principles.
• Proficiency in scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash) and solid SRE fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Lead distributed DevOps teams across multiple markets and time zones.
• Drive automation, platform Reliability Engineering and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Establish operating models, ways of working and governance for global DevOps practice.
• Collaborate with C-suite and stakeholders to align DevOps strategy with business goals.

The Role

We are seeking an exceptional DevOps Manager with 12-15 years of experience to establish and scale our Global DevOps practice across Flight Centre Travel Group's multi-market technology landscape. This high-impact role requires a seasoned leader who can operate independently, influence at all organizational levels, and drive transformational change. You'll lead distributed teams globally, championing automation, operational excellence, and a culture of continuous improvement.

Experience And Background

• 12-15 years of progressive DevOps leadership experience in complex enterprise environments
• Demonstrated success establishing DevOps operating models and driving organizational transformation

Technical Expertise (Must-Have)

Advanced-level expertise with Azure DevOps

• Process template management and customization
• Establishing and enforcing ways of working
• Leading Communities of Practice
• Building complex queries and custom dashboards
• Implementing integrations and extensions
• Managing organizational-level configurations

Expert-level knowledge of Datadog observability platform

• Full-stack monitoring and distributed tracing
• Log aggregation, APM, and infrastructure monitoring
• Synthetic monitoring and alerting strategies
• Proven ability to enable teams in Datadog adoption
• Strong understanding of IaC tools (Terraform, ARM templates, Bicep)
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD principles and deployment strategies
• Proficiency in scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
• Solid grasp of SRE principles and implementation patterns

Leadership & Soft Skills

• Exceptional influencing and organizational skills with ability to drive change across complex matrix organizations
• Polished, executive-level communication skills for interactions with C-suite, senior leadership, stakeholders, peers, and vendors
• Culturally sensitive and globally minded with experience across diverse cultures and time zones
• Ability to manage multiple competing demands while maintaining strategic focus

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant certifications (Azure DevOps Expert, Azure Solutions Architect, Datadog certifications)
• Experience with Agile/SAFe methodologies at scale
• Familiarity with change management frameworks (ITIL)
• Experience with AIOps platforms and practices
