Job summary

Copello is hiring for a DevOps & Infrastructure Lead to steer secure, high-throughput data platforms across on-premise and cloud environments. You will lead DevOps, infrastructure engineering, CI/CD, observability, and platform automation while guiding teams to deliver reliable services in demanding National Security projects.

You will mentor engineers, shape roadmaps with engineering leaders, and drive secure, scalable operations through modern tooling and practices.

Qualifications

• Strong DevOps or infrastructure engineering experience, ideally with experience leading or mentoring technical teams.
• Experience delivering secure cloud infrastructure and on-premise platforms.
• Proficient in infrastructure as code using Terraform and Helm.
• Experience with automation or tooling development using Go.
• Solid CI/CD and GitOps tooling, including ArgoCD and automated deployment pipelines.
• Good observability skills with Prometheus and Grafana.

DevOps & Infrastructure Lead

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a DevOps & Infrastructure Lead to join a specialist technology organisation working on complex, high stakes projects within the National Security sector.

The role will focus on delivering and maintaining high throughput, high capacity data platforms across both on premise environments and cloud based solutions.

You’ll take a hands on technical leadership role across DevOps, infrastructure engineering, CI/CD, observability, infrastructure as code and platform automation, helping teams deliver secure, reliable and scalable services in demanding environments.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll lead a team developing, operating and continuously improving secure on premise and cloud data platform capabilities.

• Partner with engineering and customer technical leaders to shape platform, infrastructure and delivery roadmaps.
• Lead the design, development and operation of high throughput, high capacity on premise data platforms and associated cloud based solutions.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows and automated deployment approaches using tools such as ArgoCD.
• Implement and improve observability using Prometheus, Grafana, logging and alerting to support resilient platform operations.
• Use infrastructure as code and platform automation with Helm, Go and Terraform to deliver repeatable and assured environments.
• Mentor engineers, review technical approaches and help teams adopt modern DevOps and platform engineering practices.
• Lead and contribute to agile ceremonies, keeping delivery aligned to user needs, operational constraints and security expectations.

What you’ll bring

• Strong DevOps or infrastructure engineering experience, ideally with experience leading or mentoring technical teams.
• Experience delivering secure cloud infrastructure and services alongside on premise platform environments.
• Strong infrastructure as code experience using Terraform and Helm.
• Experience with automation or tooling development using Go.
• Container and orchestration experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Helm.
• Experience with CI/CD and GitOps tooling, ideally including ArgoCD and automated deployment pipelines.
• Good understanding of observability, monitoring and alerting using technologies such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Strong understanding of security, networking, logging, secrets management and operational assurance.
• The ability to learn new technologies quickly and help others adopt them safely and effectively.

Location

Gloucestershire

This is a fully onsite position, working 5 days per week from the Gloucestershire site, with occasional travel to customer locations where required.

Security Clearance

Current clearance at the highest level of UK security clearance is required for this position.
