Job description

As a DevOps Engineer at Veeqo, you will be in charge of continuously improving the resiliency and security of the systems that make Veeqo's products and features possible. You will work with several teams of talented software engineers in multiple locations, and build tooling and infrastructure that improves their ability to meet our high standards for operational excellence. This role is a good fit for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is both creative and technical.

Key job responsibilities
  • Own and operate the infrastructure underpinning Veeqo's e-commerce platform across production, staging and pre-production AWS environments (EKS, Aurora, ElastiCache/Valkey, SQS, Amazon MQ, S3)
  • Drive security and compliance delivery: ASR certification, Shepherd risk remediation, environment separation, CVE response and patching
  • Execute infrastructure cost optimisation against S-team goals (DRAM reduction, right-sizing, VPA adoption)
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/VQJenkins migration, deployment automation, Terraform)
  • Participate in on-call rotation (primary and secondary) for production incident response, triage and resolution
  • Deliver infrastructure changes via MCMs (Managed Change Management) with full rollback planning and operational rigour
  • Contribute to platform reliability: multi-AZ resilience, monitoring (Prometheus/CloudWatch), alerting and observability

Support cross-team engineering through tooling, automation and developer experience improvements

Collaborate with 5 product engineering teams (2PTs) who depend on shared infrastructure

A day in the life

You start the day triaging alerts and monitoring dashboards. If on-call, you're first responder for production issues.

Mid-morning is infrastructure delivery: provisioning resources, writing Infrastructure-as-Code, or reviewing change management plans.

After lunch, you're helping product teams debug deployment failures, identifying root causes, and adding automation to prevent recurrence.

Later, you prepare your own production changes (patching, upgrading, or scaling) with proper testing, documentation, and peer approval.

No two days are identical. Some are project-heavy, others operationally heavy. The constant: end-to-end ownership. You design it, build it, deploy it, and operate it.
