Job summary

Searchability NS&D is seeking a highly skilled AWS DevOps Engineer to join our UK delivery team on a hybrid basis with Newcastle-based offices. The role requires SC Clearance eligibility and focuses on building scalable cloud platforms and automation for critical Public Sector programmes.

You will drive infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines and monitoring, collaborating with development and delivery teams while upholding DevOps best practices and security considerations.

Qualifications

• Experience in a DevOps or Platform engineering role, building and maintaining AWS infrastructure.
• Large scale AWS environments.
• Container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• CI/CD tools including Jenkins and GitHub.
• Infrastructure as code using Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Eligible for SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise AWS cloud infrastructure and platforms.
• Hands-on with core technologies like Linux, Kubernetes and cloud services.
• Automate infrastructure and deployment processes following DevOps best practices.
• Help implement engineering standards and best practices across teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
• Collaborate with development and delivery teams to support deployment.
• Engage with stakeholders to clarify technical requirements.
• Share knowledge and mentor junior engineers where needed.

• Permanent opportunity for an AWS focused DevOps Engineer who is eligible for SC Clearance
• Salary up to £70,000 DOE
• Hybrid opportunity with Newcastle based offices

We're looking for an AWS DevOps Engineer to join one of the UK's leading technology consultancies, delivering large-scale cloud platforms for critical Public Sector programmes.

You'll play a key role in building and improving cloud platforms, driving automation and DevOps best practices, and providing hands‑on technical support across development and delivery teams.

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving challenging engineering problems and getting stuck into the technical detail!

Due to the sensitive nature of the work, SC Clearance eligibility is required.
