Job summary

Fractile is seeking a DevOps Engineer to own the Bazel monorepo and CI/CD infrastructure, designing rules across Python, C++, Rust, SystemVerilog, and ML workloads. You will build scalable, reproducible pipelines that power our AI inference stack.

Based in Bristol or London, you will debug CI failures, optimize performance on large compute clusters, and contribute upstream to Bazel while improving developer experience for the team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software or infrastructure engineering.
• 3+ years with build systems and Bazel.
• Proficient in Python scripting and automation.
• Experience with CI/CD for large-scale products.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.
• Knowledge of SRE principles and incident management.

Responsibilities

• Design and own Bazel rules across the stack.
• Scale the monorepo across Python, C++, Rust, SystemVerilog, and ML workloads.
• Create reproducible multi-language build pipelines.
• Debug and triage CI pipeline failures.
• Optimize CI performance on large compute clusters.
• Build and maintain monitoring and observability tooling.
• Define alerting thresholds, runbooks, and incident response workflows.
• Contribute upstream to Bazel rules and improve developer experience.
