Job summary

ANS Group Limited in Manchester is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join a close-knit operations team. You will deliver a proactive DevOps service to customers, working across Azure and AWS with a strong focus on automation and meeting agreed deadlines.

You will collaborate with customer operations teams, develop automation, and manage code repositories, pipelines, and infrastructure while contributing to ANS standards and upskilling colleagues.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DevOps practices.
• Experience with Azure, AWS or other public clouds.
• Scripting abilities across PowerShell, Bash, Python, Node.js.

Responsibilities

• Work with customer operations teams to improve DevOps.
• Create and develop automation.
• Configure and manage code repositories.
• Configure and manage build and release pipelines.
• Configure and manage application infrastructure.
• Help define ANS standards for DevOps processes and technologies.
• Keep track of time spent on customer backlogs.
• Serve as point of escalation for cloud engineering.
• Upskill other teams in DevOps skills and practices.

You will be working within a close-knit and highly skilled operations team working to deliver a proactive DevOps service to customers. As part of your role, you will work to agreed deadlines, operating multiple customer environments in Azure and AWS with a focus on automation.

Roles and responsibilities...

• Working closely with our customer's operations teams to improve and develop their DevOps.
• Create and develop automation.
• Configuration and management of code repositories.
• Configuration and management of build and release pipelines.
• Configuration and management of application infrastructure.
• Help define ANS standards for DevOps processes and technologies.
• Keep track of time spent on customer's backlogs.
• Point of technical escalation for cloud engineering.
• The role also involves upskilling of other teams across the business in DevOps technical skills and practices.

Knowledge of DevOps practices, examples:

• Public Cloud - Azure
• Scripting – Powershell, Bash, Python, Node.JS Knowledge of application development
• IaC – Terraform, ARM Templates
