Description

You will be a great fit for this role if you are a proactive DevOps Engineer with strong skills in supporting always-on systems on cloud Infrastructure using Kubernetes clusters.

You will be part of the Platform Engineering team, which encompasses DevOps, Change and Release, SRE and Security Operations. As a DevOps Engineer you will support the build, maintenance and upgrade of our platforms using infrastructure-as-code and automation pipelines.

Our infrastructure is built on Microsoft Azure with fully automated infrastructure as code using CI/CD pipelines. Our customers are mainly Banks and therefore ensuring the platform is available is critical.

What you'll do

1. Use and maintain tools to automate application and infrastructure deployment, and to monitor operations
2. Coordinate with other members of the DevOps team, Development, Test, and other teams to enhance and optimise existing processes
3. Help maintain and support current and future Azure based cloud platforms and infrastructure
4. Provide guidance & support to the Dev and QA teams as needed
5. Implement and support monitoring and logging solutions that enable the production systems to be monitored 24/7
6. Ensure systems are regularly patched
7. Securely manage configuration items and secrets
8. Participate in the 24x7 support rota

Who you are

We are looking for someone with:

1. 5 + years of experience in a DevOps / Site Reliability Engineering or related role
2. Experience in supporting web based customer facing infrastructure and applications
3. Experienced managing environments in Azure & or AWS from Dev to Production
4. Experience with scripting languages, specifically Powershell or Bash.
5. Hands on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, GitLab, Bamboo, Team City
6. Proven track record of deploying/running/troubleshooting systems
7. Good understanding of wider infrastructure such as firewalls, load balancing networking
8. Encourage and promote a culture of collaboration between team
9. Well versed with Kubernetes and Docker, container automation experience, deploying Kubernetes clusters in the cloud preferably Azure

You will be a great fit for the role if in addition to the above you have:

1. 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure services
2. Knowledge of both Wintel and Linux based platforms
3. Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools and pipelines
4. Java Applications configuration and Sybase services
5. Working with and have understanding of Agile and Lean methodologies
6. Working knowledge of log aggregation and APM/telemetry tools
7. Working knowledge of WAFs, CDNs, Networking
