Role PurposeIn this role you will enhance and maintain new and existing DevOps process and culture on Calastone's agile work-stream teams. Partnering with our Engineering and Infrastructure teams, you will help build systems and test automation infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and improve the Continuous Integration and Delivery systems and their usage in the development and infrastructure teams.
- Maintain and enhance existing Helm charts and Chef cookbooks
- Become part of the Development Workstreams alongside Development, Infrastructure, Security and Database specialists
Knowledge & SkillsCrucial - The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate a commercial appreciation of:
- Kubernetes application deployments and troubleshooting.
- Terraform or other IaC tools for deploying to the cloud
- Experience and understanding of GitHub Actions.
- PowerShell or Bash - Scripting experience is essential.
- Cloud environment experience Azure - Essential
- Configuration Management tooling experience: Chef - Puppet or Ansible.
- Agile development practices.
Advantageous - The ideal candidate would have some level of knowledge in one or more of the following:
- Management and Support of Monitoring tools, DataDog.
- Test Driven Development - Unit testing frameworks, mocking frameworks, and patterns for testability.
- Configuration and management of Linux Servers
- Version control systems such as git
- Bash or Python

Weekend Working and On CallYour normal hours of work will be from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm, with one hour for lunch each day, to be taken between 12.00 pm and 2.00 pm - four weekdays and one weekend day (every third week). You may be required to work such additional hours as may be necessary to properly perform your duties, but you will receive no additional remuneration for additional hours worked.
The team is required to provide out-of-hours on-call support to the Operations team on a rotational basis, typically once every 3 to 4 weeks. Participation in the on-call rota will be expected upon successful completion of probation and once you have been assessed as suitably skilled to fulfil this responsibility.
