Key Responsibilities:
  • Infrastructure Automation: Design and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to create scalable and reliable cloud environments.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Build and maintain efficient CI/CD workflows with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps for continuous integration and delivery.
  • Cloud Services: Deploy, monitor, and optimize applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP, ensuring high availability, cost-efficiency, and top performance.
  • Containerisation & Orchestration: Build and manage Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters, enabling seamless scaling and deployment.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement secure cloud architectures, automate security controls, and ensure compliance with GDS and NCSC security standards.
  • Monitoring & Logging: Use tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or AWS CloudWatch to monitor system performance and health, ensuring uptime and identifying issues proactively.
  • Automation Support: Assist software engineers by automating repetitive tasks and streamlining workflows, driving efficiency across teams.
  • Best Practices & Uptime: Advocate for DevOps best practices and ensure high application uptime and system reliability.
  • Collaborate & Innovate: Work in an Agile environment alongside a talented team to ensure the seamless availability and reliability of digital services.
Qualifications

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Proficiency in setting up CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience managing Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters.
  • Skilled in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of network security, identity management, and system hardening.
  • Experience within an Agile framework.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, and event-driven architectures.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Splunk, Datadog, or New Relic.
  • Knowledge of VPCs, VPNs, and load balancing.
  • Awareness of GDS Service Standards and accessibility requirements.
