Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced upgrade and automation specialist to support large-scale applications on Windows and Linux platforms. You will plan, coordinate and deliver upgrades and platform refreshes while ensuring security and vendor compliance.

You will develop automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible or similar tools, build CI/CD pipelines, promote Infrastructure as Code, and collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to optimise production delivery and

Qualifications

• Active SC clearance (SC cleared).
• Experience upgrading applications on Windows and Linux.
• Ability to plan, coordinate and deliver upgrades and platform refreshes.
• Experience building automation and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with scripting languages and configuration management tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver application upgrades, migrations and platform refresh activities.
• Ensure applications remain compliant with vendor support and security requirements.
• Administer applications deployed on Windows and Linux environments.
• Troubleshoot application, middleware and infrastructure issues.
• Maintain operational documentation and runbooks.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual operational processes.
• Develop automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible or similar tools.
• Build CI/CD deployment pipelines.
• Promote Infrastructure as Code and DevOps best practices.
• Documentation and knowledge transfer, including strong experience administering enterprise applications on both Windows and Linux.
• Experience delivering applications and platform upgrades in production environments.
• Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python or similar tools.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
• Experience with application servers, middleware and databases.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience integrating Artifactory, Xray and SonarQube into CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with application release management, dependency management and repository governance.
• Experience designing, implementing and maintaining GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.
