Job summary

Transaction Network Services in Sheffield (UK) seeks a senior Platform Engineer to lead our DevOps automation and AI journey. You will own GitLab foundations, design and optimize CI/CD pipelines, and coordinate testing and releases in a global team.

Required: 10–15 years in IT, SDLC/CI CD, Python, AWS/Azure, Docker, Ansible/Terraform, and security awareness. International experience and DevOps cert are a plus.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years in IT with broad skill set.
• Experience with SDLC and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with release management and best practices.
• BA/BS in Computer Science or an IT-related field, or equivalent experience.
• DevOps certification (AWS or Azure) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Shape our DevOps Automation and AI journey.
• Own our GitLab foundation, including standards around repo creation, pipelines, and deployment.
• Design, build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines.
• Standardize and coordinate unit, integration, and security testing.
• Plan, coordinate, publicize, and monitor application releases and updates.
• Maintain the health and stability of our automation and orchestration applications, plugins, pipelines, and functions.
• Define and document environment and infrastructure requirements, particularly around cloud, virtualized, and physical deployments.
• Define and document patterns and policies for safe use and deployment of AI-assisted automation, including infrastructure, architecture, and deployment standards.
• Work with Security and Risk teams to continuously assess our security posture.
• Interact with internal teams for requirements gathering and deployment coordination.

Salary: £66,000 - 106,000 per year

Requirements

• We prefer someone with 10-15 years in IT who adds a wide set of skills to our team.
• Experience with SDLC and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with release management and best practices.
• Experience in software development and engineering.
• Experience with network and software automation.
• Experience with monitoring platforms, with Netreo as a plus.
