Role Purpose:

This new product testing role involves managing the full lifecycle of test engineering—from defining test cases to developing test tools and managing facilities. It requires broad engineering knowledge, creativity, and initiative.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities:

1. Analyze conformance specifications to derive test requirements.
2. Plan, design, and communicate test cases to validate requirements across electro-mechanical systems during development and production phases.
3. Design test jigs, harnesses, and software, including automation where appropriate.
4. Implement data processing and filtering software to extract relevant results.
5. Manage internal test facilities (test tanks, ovens, pools, lifting equipment).
6. Liaise with external test facilities (EMC, vibration, pools, etc.).
7. Execute tests safely, clearly, and in a controlled manner.
8. Perform fault finding and failure analysis.
9. Document and present results and findings.

Essential Skills:

1. HNC or Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
2. Minimum 3 years in a test-focused role or in test equipment development.
3. Proven experience in data capture and analysis.
4. Experience working on multi-disciplinary systems (electrical, mechanical, software).
5. Experience within an engineering NPI environment.
6. Excellent knowledge of test equipment and platforms.
7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Experience with NPI design phases, working to design/system requirements.
9. Ability to generate test cases from requirements for verification and validation.
10. Experience with National Instruments test software platforms, including creating test functions.
11. Proficiency with controlling NI hardware and proprietary test equipment.
12. Hands-on experience with electronic circuit construction, testing, and diagnostics.
13. Innovative mindset grounded in sound engineering principles.
14. Ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
15. Knowledge of product certification standards and industry best practices.
16. Enthusiasm, drive, and personality.
17. Ability to create high-quality test reports and logs.

Desirable:

1. Experience in offshore and/or subsea industries.
2. Experience working in a Production Test facility.
3. Knowledge of creating test executables in NI LabView/TestStand.
4. Software programming skills (Python, C, C#, C++, VB, etc.).
5. Experience in the specification, building, and commissioning of test equipment.
6. Understanding mechanical principles and applications.
7. Knowledge of compliance standards (CE/DNV).
8. Previous customer-facing experience.
