Job summary

Notting Hill Genesis Group is seeking a Development Project Accountant to lead the financial management of our development projects in London. You will manage the project finance team, ensure accurate accounting, and maintain project ledgers across multiple entities and revenue streams.

The role requires CCAB qualification, strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to drive improvements in processes and reporting.

Qualifications

  • CCAB recognised accounting qualification is essential.

  • Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with D365 F&O and Power BI preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the financial management and accounting of the Group’s development projects.
  • Manage and develop the project finance team with strong controls over processes.
  • Maintain project ledger integrity across projects, tenure and entities.
  • Oversee VAT accounting and recoverable amounts.
  • Partner with Project Managers for budgets, forecasts and financial arrangements.
  • Oversee intercompany development transactions and reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with Development Finance, Joint Ventures and Development Delivery teams on intercompany and lease agreements.
  • Monitor project financial performance with insights on costs, forecasts, cash flows and risks.
  • Maintain robust controls, reconciliations and audit trails; support year-end processes.
  • Be the main contact for development accounting and liaise with auditors and advisers.
  • Drive continuous improvement in development finance processes using D365 F&O and Power BI.

# Vacancies Development Project Accountant## Job Introduction**What you’ll do**We’re a not-for-profit organisation with a focus on providing quality homes at below-market rents for people who would otherwise struggle to afford them. We are both a landlord and a developer, with more than 60,000 existing homes and 8,000 more in our pipeline, and a well-established commercial business from which we reinvest surpluses to support the provision of below market-rent homes across the capital. *.***How you’ll do it*** Lead the financial management and accounting of the Group’s development projects, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.* Manage and develop the project finance team, maintaining effective controls over invoice processing and project transactions.* Maintain the integrity of the project ledger, ensuring costs are correctly recorded, supported and allocated across projects, tenure and legal entities.* Oversee Value Added Tax (VAT) accounting, ensuring VAT is correctly analysed, recorded, and recoverable amounts are identified and recovered promptly.* Partner with Project Managers to ensure budgets, forecasts and key financial arrangements are accurately maintained and reported.* Oversee intercompany development transactions, ensuring costs incurred by Design & Build entities are billed and reconciled on a timely basis.* Work with Development Finance and Joint Ventures and Development Delivery teams to ensure appropriate intercompany development and lease agreements are in place.* Monitor project financial performance, providing insight and challenge on costs, forecasts, cash flows, risks, and emerging issues.* Maintain strong financial controls, reconciliations, supporting evidence and audit trails, ensuring period and year-end requirements are delivered accurately and on time.* Act as a key point of contact for development accounting matters, working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external auditors and other advisers and ensuring queries and information requests are resolved promptly.* Drive continuous improvement in development finance processes, controls, systems and reporting, making effective use of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365 F&O) and data analysis.**The ideal candidate**We believe great service starts with great people, and we are committed to recruiting and developing passionate, enthusiastic, and talented individuals who can add value to our thriving organisation.Pending confirmation of legislative changes, this role may require a qualification to demonstrate competence.
