Job summary

The Ryedale Festival is seeking an enterprising Development Officer to help build fundraising for its ambitious programme, including trusts, foundations and corporate sponsorship, across North and East Yorkshire.

This is a new 12-month, 0.3 FTE role reporting to the Artistic Director and working with the Development Committee; it offers flexibility and potential for growth as fundraising expands.

Qualifications

  • Experience of fundraising, development or preparing grant applications.
  • Excellent written communication skills and the ability to make a persuasive case for support.
  • Strong research skills and an ability to identify and assess promising opportunities.
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Able to work independently, anticipate what is needed and follow opportunities through.
  • An ability to translate the Festival's aims into compelling funding propositions

Responsibilities

  • Identify funding opportunities from trusts, foundations and grant-making bodies.
  • Develop and maintain a forward pipeline and schedule of funding applications.
  • Prepare and submit high-quality applications, coordinating with colleagues to gather information.
  • Maintain relationships with existing and prospective funders and monitor grants with reporting.
  • Research prospective corporate partners and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Support the Development Committee in turning experience and networks into fundraising activity.
