Job summary

Tempting Recruitment is assisting a South East London local authority in recruiting a Development Officer to join their Housing Delivery operations.

Based in South East London, the role comes with a £500 per day umbrella rate, 9:00am–5:00pm, Monday to Friday, on a 6‑month contract with possible extension.

You will devise and deliver housing delivery projects, support the Builds Housing Delivery function, and assist with handovers and defects liability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a Development Officer or similar role.
• Knowledge of construction requirements in Local Authority housing.
• Experience with site acquisition, monitoring, reporting, handovers and defects liability.

Responsibilities

• Devise, steer and deliver existing housing delivery projects and programmes, and establish new housing delivery projects and programmes.
• Support the Builds Housing Delivery function, responsible for specific development projects.
• Assist Project Managers with handovers, tenancy liaison and defects liability periods.

Position: Development Officer

Location: South East London

Salary: £500 a day umbrella

Hours: Monday - Friday / 9:00am - 5:00pm

Key Responsibilities

• Devise, steer and deliver existing housing delivery projects and programmes, and establish new housing delivery projects and programmes.
• Support the Builds Housing Delivery function, in particular to be responsible for specific development projects.
• Assisting existing Project Managers with Handovers, Tenancy liaison and during Defects Liability Period.

Job Requirements

• At least 3 years experience within a Development Officer role or an equivalent role.
• Basic knowledge of construction requirements within a Local Authority setting, specifically housing.
• Experience in site acquisition, project monitoring and reporting, Handovers and Defects Liability Period management.
