Job summary

Caithness Chemicals Limited is seeking a Development Manager to lead and develop a range of community projects in Thurso. You will drive income generation, funding applications, and work closely with staff, volunteers, and partners to deliver lasting community benefits.

The role requires strong leadership, effective communication, and a deep understanding of rural and remote community challenges. You will collaborate with the Operations Lead and the Board of Trustees to meet strategic goals.

Qualifications

  • Experience in community development or leading a small business/charity team.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience of successful funding applications and fundraising.
  • Understands budget management and financial oversight.
  • Can build positive, collaborative relationships with staff, volunteers and community partners.
  • Has a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing rural and remote communities.

Responsibilities

The Role Includes
  • Leading existing community projects and developing new initiatives from idea to completion.
  • Generating income and preparing funding applications for new and existing projects.
  • Working with the Operations Lead in supporting and managing staff and volunteers.
  • Building strong relationships with community groups, local stakeholders, funders and partners.
  • Monitoring and evaluating projects to ensure they deliver lasting benefits for our community.
  • Working closely with the Board of Trustees to deliver the Trust's strategic goals.
We're Looking For Someone Who Has
