Development Management Team Leader - North West - Permanent Role - Rate Negotiable
Are you passionate about shaping places and enabling sustainable development? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Planning Team Leader to join a busy Development Management team in the North West on a permanent, full-time basis.
About the Role:
As Planning Team Leader, you will manage a team of planning officers delivering a high-quality, efficient, and customer-focused development management service. You'll play a strategic role in progressing development opportunities, offering expert planning advice, and supporting the creation of vibrant, accessible communities.
Key Responsibilities:
·Lead on the assessment of development proposals, overseeing statutory processes and supporting high performance across the service.
·Manage and support a team of planning officers, ensuring high-quality casework and consistent decision-making.
·Contribute to strategic planning projects, policy development, and service improvements.
·Maintain budgetary oversight and reporting in line with service objectives.
·Build and maintain strong working relationships with developers, elected members, and local stakeholders, ensuring excellent customer care throughout.
About You:
·Qualified to degree level in Town Planning or a related field.
·Chartered Member of the RTPI (or eligible).
·Experienced in managing planning staff and delivering development management functions in a local authority setting.
·Skilled at handling complex planning matters and balancing competing priorities.
·Strong communicator with a customer-first approach and collaborative mindset.
