As Development Lead – Modern Foreign Languages, you’ll work on the Training Programme to teach a subject-specific area of our secondary curriculum. Our secondary subjects for QTS are: English, Mathematics, Science, Design & Technology, Modern Foreign Languages (French and Spanish), Computing, Business, Music, History, Geography and Religious Education.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Delivering training to our teachers, largely online, to support their progress.
  • Using your expertise as a teacher and subject specialist to contribute to our learning design across programmes.
  • Working with a portfolio of trainees to develop their subject knowledge and subject-specific pedagogy.
  • Collaborating with other support roles to see trainees grow into leaders committed to making a difference to educational inequality.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience of developing others within the context of your subject specialism.
  • Subject matter expert with exemplary knowledge of the pedagogy underpinning your subject specialism.
  • QTS (or equivalent) and experience as a school leader.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Teachers’ Standards (2012), the Initial Teacher Training (ITT) Core Content Framework, and the Early Career Framework.
  • Experience in developing, mentoring, and coaching inexperienced teachers within a training route for at least two years (e.g., PGCE, Schools Direct, Teach First).

DBS Required: Enhanced with Barred List

Salary Package: £42,237.00

Compensation & Benefits: Employees based in London will receive £3000 London Weighting Allowance in addition to the advertised salary package. Advertised Salary, London Weighting Allowance and Annual Leave entitlement are FTE. They will be pro-rata'd for part-time and fixed-term positions.
