This role is key in supporting development activities for a full range of diesel fuel injection high pressure pump products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and development of diesel high pressure pump fuel injection components.
- Devising and executing test and analysis work on fuel injection equipment on rigs, engines and vehicles. Including confidenct in writing reports / presenting results to a variety of audiences.
- Strip down and investigate mechanical failures and perform root cause analysis.
- Organise the procurement and testing of sample hardware to meet project/objective requirements
- Preparation and definition of simulation models
- Development and use of test equipment and instrumentation.
- Interpretation of test data, synthesis of results & reporting.
- Definition and execution of test plans to provide feedback to the development/project objectives.
- Assessments of designs using established DFMEA methods to develop a robust product.
- Analyse test & simulation data, make recommendations for further testing or product improvement.
Skills
- Rig test instrumentation, operation experience. Data acquisition and post processing experience.
- Aptitude for data driven problem solving.
- Comfortable with ‘hands-on’ dismantling and reassembling of mechanical components.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines when required.
- Ability to prioritise and organise own workload.
- Ability to support problem solving with structured methodologies.
Desirable
- Knowledge of DFMEA methodology.
- Experience of design and development of products at all stages of product life cycle
- Reliability assessment and accelerated/aggravated test development including correlation to customer environment/duty cycle.
- Experience working with Engineering Technicians.
Experience & Qualifications
Mandatory
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a suitable engineering.
- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, SharePoint.
- Excellent written and spoken fluency in English
- Software skills operating system Software, & Microsoft office.
