Job Description

PE Global is currently recruiting for a Development Engineer (engines experience) to join a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment based in Peterborough.

This is an initial 12 months contract based on site. Pay rate is £34.00 ph PAYE and £46.15 ph Umbrella.

Duties of the role/Responsibilities

• Execution of Core Engine System validation activities
• New product development technical issue resolution.
• Conducting FMEA on components and systems to identify and address design risks and determine validation needs.
• Plan and execute validation tests.
• Conducting component and system design reviews
• Keeping peers, team leader and management up to date with progress against planned activities.
• Support resolution to production, test and field issues, diagnose issues to root cause, put in place containment actions, and develop permanent corrective actions. Work with suppliers and keep stakeholders informed of progress and decisions

Education/Experience

• Technical background (HNC or technical degree in mechanical or automotive engineering) though other qualifications or experience are equally valued
• Knowledge in a minimum of one or more of the following Core Engine systems: Rotating Systems, Valvetrain, Castings, Lubrication, Breather and Cooling systems, Bolted joint and sealing experience
• Minimum 3yrs relevant development experience
• Good understanding of Manufacturing principles & processes
• Development experience of mechanical components and systems, including both rig and complete system testing.
• Self-motivation and an ability to manage and deliver tasks to meet established commitments.
• Excellent communications skills & Teamwork
