Job summary

A leading engineering group seeks an experienced Development Engineer in Louth to enhance NPD design and machine performance. The role involves testing and developing advanced technologies, ensuring product integrity through rigorous validation. Candidates should have a strong background in mechanical or mechatronic engineering, with at least 5 years of experience.

Qualifications

• 5 years minimum experience in mechanical engineering or equivalent background.
• Thorough understanding of mobile equipment, ideally material handling.
• Understanding of engine, drivetrain, hydraulic and electrical components.

Responsibilities

Development Engineer

Louth

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a renowned multinational engineering group at the forefront of innovation in the heavy equipment and materials handling sector to recruit an experienced Development Engineer.

The development engineer will be responsible for the testing and development of technology, systems, machines, attachments or components in the R&D department. Work with NPD teams to ensure product
meets design specifications by validation testing.

Your new role as a Development Engineer;

• Enhance the development function between NPD design and machine performance.
• Test and develop new systems (hydraulic & electrical, components or installations as
  required
• Ensure that reliability and durability targets are tested and validated by developing tests and test facilities
• Oversee all current and future compliance testing
• Develop the test facilities within R&D to verify product durability and function.
• Oversee data recording on site or from customers machines and specific applications.
• Analyse data and create reports documenting development and design improvements.
• Be involved in technology development discussions

What you will need to succeed;

• Bachelor Engineering (Level 7) or higher in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering
• 5 years minimum experience in mechanical engineering or equivalent background
• Thorough understanding of mobile equipment, ideally material handling
• Understanding of engine, drivetrain, hydraulic and electrical components and systems related to mobile equipment would be beneficial
• Ability to use various data recording equipment for pressure, temperature, CAN etc.
