Are you an experienced Development Engineer with a passion for delivering high-quality residential developments?
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading residential housebuilder with a strong pipeline of projects across the East Midlands.
Based in Leicester, you'll play a pivotal role in the technical delivery of new housing developments from land acquisition through to construction.
As a Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of engineering solutions across multiple residential projects. Working closely with the Land, Planning, Technical, and Construction teams, you will ensure all engineering aspects of developments are delivered on time, to budget, and to the required quality standards.
Assist with the technical due diligence on land acquisitions.
Prepare and review engineering strategies, including drainage, highways, and utilities.
Manage external consultants and review technical drawings and reports.
Liaise with local authorities, statutory bodies, and utility providers.
Support the preparation and submission of planning applications and technical approvals.
Monitor site progress and resolve on-site engineering issues.
Ensure compliance with current regulations and standards, including NHBC and Building Regulations.
Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Proven experience in a similar engineering role within the residential housing sector.
Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, planning processes, and technical standards.
Experience managing external consultants and dealing with local authorities.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in AutoCAD and drainage/highways design software (e.g., MicroDrainage, PDS, or similar).
Strong communication and organisational skills.
