Development Co-ordinator (Youth Theatre)

East Ayrshire Leisure is seeking a Development Coordinator who has enthusiasm and passion for contributing to the development of East Ayrshire’s Youth Theatre.

The successful candidate will have a vital role in improving the enjoyment, health and wellbeing of children and young people by contributing to the provision and design of innovative and modern productions and programmes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing engaging drama workshops and theatre programmes for various age groups, incorporating a range of theatrical styles
  • Leading and co-ordinating workshops and rehearsals, providing instruction, guidance and creative support to young participants
  • Overseeing the production process for performance, including play selection, casting, rehearsal scheduling, customer and set design
  • Liaising with technical, front of house and marketing to ensure a seamless production
  • Having key responsibility for risk assessments and safe working practices, including all Health & Safety processes
  • Providing communications for social media messaging and contributing ideas and content for website and newsletters
  • Assisting in developing, delivering, monitoring and evaluating programmes
  • Maintaining successful and productive partnerships with local and national providers, such as East Ayrshire Council, community groups and schools

This is a part-time position (17.5 hours/week), temporary until 31 May 2026, with a salary of £15.75 - £16.78 per hour.
