Materials Development Chemist (Polymers and Materials)
Belfast
Salary - 35,000 - 40,000 (depending on experience)

This is a great opportunity for a chemist with a strong academic or industrial background in synthetic chemistry who would be interested in researching porous materials. Role Description

  • Researching and synthesising porous materials - such as metal-organic frameworks and zeolites
  • Testing and optimising material properties with techniques such as BET, PXRD, SEM, NMR and TGA
  • Analysing surface area, adsorption performance and stability to evaluate material performance
  • Developing technologies that can be upscaled from laboratory to industrial scale
  • Presenting research and documentation to external stakeholders


Requirements

  • Master's degree or PhD in chemistry or materials science - relevant industry or postdoctoral experience would be a distinct advantage
  • Significant recent experience in synthetic chemistry - preferably working with MOF's or zeolites although organic and inorganic chemistry will also be considered
  • Strong understanding of analytical characterisation techniques
  • Willingness to travel or relocate to the central Belfast area
  • Full right to work in the UK.
