About the Role

We’re looking for a Development Chemist to join our Construction & Consumer R&D team in Stafford. In this lab-based role, you’ll lead and support technical projects that enhance our product portfolio, improve manufacturing processes, and respond to evolving customer and market needs.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, marketing, and sales—both locally and across EMEA—to deliver innovative, high-performance solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver clearly defined development projects within agreed timelines.
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing scale-up and process improvements.
  • Build relationships with raw material suppliers and technical stakeholders.
  • Develop application testing methods and understand customer use cases.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies, industry standards, and legislation.
  • Support marketing and sales teams with technical insights and documentation.
  • Represent Bostik at industry associations and events.
  • Maintain accurate technical reports, COSHH, and HSE documentation.
  • Commit to Arkema’s safety and operational excellence standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree (BSc) in a science or engineering discipline.
  • Experience in adhesives, sealants, or coatings formulation is a plus—but not essential.
  • Strong planning, communication, and project management skills.
  • A proactive, flexible, and self-starting mindset.
  • Confidence to work cross-functionally and represent the business externally.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Key Competencies

  • Adaptability and change flexibility
  • Customer focus and communication
  • Safety-first mindset
  • Creativity and results
  • Technical capability and professional knowledge
  • Teamwork and collaboration

Why Join Us?

At Bostik, part of the Arkema Group, you’ll be part of a global innovation community with access to cutting-edge technologies and development opportunities. We offer a supportive, inclusive environment where your ideas and contributions truly matter.
