Join Altro as a Development Chemist - Pioneering Innovation in our Resin Flooring Products

Altro is offering an exciting opportunity for a Development Chemist to join our Research & Development team, based in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire. In this role, you will lead the design and development of innovative products within the Altro Resins portfolio, overseeing the process from concept to full-scale manufacturing.

The resins manufacturing facility is located in Maiden Newton, Dorset. You will be expected to work on-site in Maiden Newton occasionally each month to embed new technologies and drive quality improvements.

You will be involved at every stage—from initial concept development to scaled manufacturing—ensuring all products meet high standards in performance, compliance, and cost-efficiency. Staying updated on industry trends and regulations is essential, as is collaborating with suppliers and customers to develop technical specifications and ensure compliance through rigorous testing.

This is a permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours/week), primarily based on-site due to the nature of the work.

Who We’re Looking For:

A motivated individual with a degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Knowledge of resin products and their applications in construction and transport is highly desirable.

You should have experience in laboratory testing, ensuring compliance with industry standards, problem-solving skills, and a passion for product improvement. Effective communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
