Job description

CY Partners are looking to recruit a Development Chemist on behalf of an innovative and growing chemical manufacturer. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design, testing, and support of high-performance specialty fluid formulations used in safety-critical applications across diverse industries.

Responsibilities

• Formulation & Development: Plan and execute laboratory-based research focused on the development of new fluid products for industrial use.
• Product Support: Provide technical input and ongoing formulation support for the existing product range to ensure continued performance and compliance.
• Project Management: Collaborate with senior R&D staff to prioritise workstreams, define timelines, and report on progress.
• Data & Reporting: Maintain meticulous records of experimental procedures, analyse data, and deliver technical reports and presentations.
• Test Development: Assist in the design and implementation of testing protocols and equipment specifications for performance validation.
• Compliance & Safety: Uphold high standards of laboratory safety, quality, and environmental compliance in all activities.

Requirements

• A degree (BSc or higher) in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
• Prior experience in a formulation chemistry or product development role, ideally within the industrial or specialty chemicals sector.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communicator, capable of translating technical data into clear conclusions.
• A collaborative and adaptable team player.
• Knowledge of laboratory health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards
