Job description

The Development Chef will be responsible for continuously enhancing the food offering within ISS Food Services, driving innovation, and ensuring our culinary concepts remain relevant to business needs.

Job Description

This role plays a key part in mobilizing new contracts, crafting, and refining food concepts aligned with our growth strategy.

In addition to menu development, the Development Chef will provide craft training, inspiring and upskilling teams to maintain excellence in food service delivery.

By staying ahead of industry trends and customer expectations, this role helps shape the future of ISS Food Services, ensuring high-quality, creative, and commercially successful food experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand, develop, and implement current food trends and ideas into the business.
  • Identify areas for craft development and implement required training.
  • Develop a culture of sharing best practices and elevating food standards.
  • Ensure nominated suppliers provide the relevant supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures related to food safety, operations, and recruitment.
  • Evaluate proposed and required service changes, considering financial, personnel, and operational implications before implementation.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Senior chef experience.
  • Ability to coach and mentor chefs, supporting capability development and succession planning.
  • 7061/7062 or equivalent qualifications in food preparation and production.
  • Minimum Level 3 food hygiene qualification or equivalent.
  • Passion for food and service.
  • Strong commercial understanding with a proven track record.
  • Experience in tendering for new business.
