Job summary

Strathmore Foods Ltd is seeking an experienced Development Chef or Culinary Consultant to support our NPD team on two bespoke product development projects. The role combines culinary creativity with scale-up know-how, focusing on turning concepts into production-ready recipes and trials at our Forfar site, with possible hybrid working.

Strathmore Foods Ltd is looking for an experienced Development Chef or Culinary Consultant to support our NPD team on two bespoke product development projects.

We create ready meals and meal solutions for the retail, hospitality and airline sectors. We’re keen to hear from consultants who combine culinary creativity with an understanding of what makes a product commercially viable and suitable for manufacture at scale.

This is a practical, chef-focused consultancy, with recipe creation and food development at its heart. Working with our NPD Manager and production teams, you’ll help take ideas from initial concept through recipe development, kitchen and factory trials, and into production.

Ideally, you’ll be based at our development kitchen within our production site in Forfar, with the possibility of hybrid working.

We’d like to hear from consultants who bring:

• Professional chef experience and strong recipe development skills.
• An understanding of how to adapt kitchen recipes for large-scale production.
• Commercial awareness of ingredients, costs, yields and consistency.
• Experience in retail, hospitality, foodservice or airline product development.
• Strong food safety knowledge, attention to detail and a collaborative approach.

The initial engagement will focus on these two projects, with potential for further consultancy work as our NPD pipeline develops.

Project scope, time commitment, deliverables and consultancy fees will be agreed before the engagement begins.
