Job Description

A Development and Production Test Engineer - Electronic/Electrical is required for a long-term contract assignment on site in Henlow.

Candidates need to be eligible for UK Eyes Only SC clearance.

Role responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the manufacturing test of weapons sub-systems in production and development, including diagnostics of complex weapons at system and sub-system levels.
• Support Test Engineering during design and development phases from initial concept through to Production Readiness Review and release to operations.
• Support test facility introduction, ensuring configuration control of equipment and facilities, including generating test specifications and operator instructions.
• Assist in testing electrical/electronic weapon systems and sub-assemblies, diagnosing production test failures to circuit card and component levels.
• Identify remedial and corrective actions to enable manufacturing to continue production in line with the programme.
• Evaluate technical problems and develop proposals for test investigations, corrective actions, and process improvements.
• Represent Test Engineering at Defect Review Board meetings to facilitate efficient progress of equipment and quality notifications.

Role requirements (skills, training, qualifications)

• HNC/HND (Electronics) Level or equivalent, with experience in digital & analogue electronics manufacture and test.
• Good understanding of measurement and test principles and equipment.
• Understanding of the CADMID product lifecycle for test equipment is desirable.
• Knowledge of RF and microwave technology at subsystem level is advantageous.
• Understanding of environmental testing (including ESS) is beneficial.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially for test specs, instructions, and reports.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to plan and organize work to meet project objectives.
• Manual handling and ESD training.
