Job summary

Farringdon James Limited in Plymouth is seeking a Software Quality Assurance professional to ensure that software released meets quality standards and deadlines. You will be involved in the creation of automatic testing scripts and assist with various test designs for unit and system testing.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in software development or mathematics, as well as analytical skills and experience with testing methodologies. Benefits include 28 days of annual leave and a pension scheme.

Job description

Main Purpose of Job

Ensure that software released is of an acceptable quality, in line with both company and customer requirements, and to meet software release deadlines.

Contribute to the creation of automatic testing scripts for different technologies.

Assist in designing tests for unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and operational acceptance testing.

Knowledge & Skills

• Background in software development (C++, C#, JS) and/or mathematics, either by training or experience.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Familiarity with designing tests that reflect proof of correctness of functions and algorithms.
• Knowledge of data structures.
• Familiarity with the whole application development cycle.
• Experience with development management and production tools (Jira, Mantis, Jenkins, CVS, GIT).
• Experience with automatic unit testing and automatic UI testing.
