Job description

IXICO Greater London, England, United Kingdom

Advanced analytics. Intelligent insights.

IXICO plc (AIM: IXI), is a leading neuroimaging Contract Research Organization (CRO), delivering advanced Ai analytical insights in neuroscience to the global clinical trials market. Established in 2004, listed as a public company in 2013, IXICO has firmly established itself as a trusted partner to the global life sciences industry, supporting the development of new therapies for neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis.

With our focus on neuroscience, our purpose is to advance human health by turning data into clinically valuable insights; helping our clients reduce clinical development risk and improve return on investment from their clinical development programmes. We achieve this by combining Ai machine learning imaging biomarker analysis, together with centralised neuroimaging CRO services to provide an integrated service covering every stage of clinical development through to post-marketing surveillance. Our people are empowered to enable us to achieve our company goals and their own personal development through the “4A” values at the heart of our culture: Aspiration, Ability, Agility and Accountability.

To help us deliver our medical image analysis solutions to large clinical trials we are hiring an experienced and passionate Developer/Support Engineer to join our dynamic team on a permanent full-time capacity.

Purpose of the Role:

This role supports both our legacy and new cloud-based clinical trial imaging platforms, ensuring the seamless operation and ongoing development of these critical systems. This is not solely a development role but an opportunity to provide platform support, assist in system design, and contribute to new feature development as needed.

This role combines front-line support with development and technical configuration in order to meet client-driven timelines with long-term software development projects. It therefore requires an individual with a flexible mindset, comfortable with competing demands on their time and a strong ability to organise themselves independently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide end-to-end support for IXICO’s clinical imaging data platforms, including the legacy system (Linux/Tomcat/Postgres/Java) and the modern platform (Azure DevOps, Azure Web Services, C#, CosmosDB, Kubernetes, Docker, React).
  • Manage and triage support queues, ensuring efficient and timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Design, implement, and maintain scripts to streamline data management and platform configuration.
  • Collaborate with development teams to help interpret and implement new requirements.
  • Act as a support and knowledge resource for developers, testers, and other technical staff.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of workflows and processes.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate technical documentation.
  • Promote best practices and knowledge-sharing within the team.

Qualifications and skills required for the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Strong practical experience in programming using scripting languages (Bash, Python).
  • Strong proficiency with Linux/Unix environments.
  • Solid understanding of database systems (SQL, CosmosDB).
  • Familiarity with object-oriented development and design.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting complex system issues and providing technical support.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in applied Java and/or C# development.
  • Experience with Azure cloud services.
  • Knowledge of medical image analysis and DICOM standards.
  • Understanding of design patterns and best practices in software development.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Git, Microsoft DevOps, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Front-end development experience (React is a plus).

Others:

  • A proactive team player with a collaborative mindset.
  • High level of motivation and a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
  • A strong interest in technology and programming outside of work is highly valued.

How to Apply:

IXICO is working hard to create a representative, inclusive and empowered team, because we believe different experiences, perspectives and backgrounds make a better workplace, and ultimately better services.
