Job description

Carrington West are assisting a London based local authority client in the search for a Developer Contributions Team Leader (S106) on an initial 6-month contract (Then rolling).

We are looking for a team leader to line manage up to ten officers. You will be working with the team to lead a transformational change and provide your support in the process of co-designing a work programme and an associated service improvement plan for 2025/26.

We are looking for an experienced Team Leader who has experience in the collection and enforcing of planning obligation matters whereby you will proactively scrutinise developer's submissions and maximise the collection of S106 monies and ensure that governance and internal controls are exemplar.

You will be:
·an experienced people manager
·able to lead on transforming a service
·keen to support the growth and development of colleagues in the team
·technically proficient in planning obligations and infrastructure planning matters to be able to guide the work of the team and make delegated decisions on behalf of the local planning authority
·willing to undertake S106 compliance casework as the demands of work require

It would be beneficial for the post holder to have a Degree or postgraduate diploma in town and country planning or relevant subject such as geography, environmental science, sustainability or geology; and have an in depth knowledge of the UK planning system.

The council are looking for candidates who will be able to hit the ground running, who have experience of leading a team of professional officers/staff dealing with town planning and/or S106 and/or CIL and/or infrastructure planning matters.

Carrington West Pay Rate - £55per/hour
