Job summary

MediaKind in Southampton, UK, is hiring a Developer Advocate to shape developer experience for MK.IO. You will translate complex streaming capabilities into accessible content, engage with developer communities, and influence product direction.

The role focuses on creating tutorials, demos, and technical content while partnering with engineering to ship developer-friendly features. Hybrid work and ongoing training are offered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a tech or marketing field with a passion for technology.
  • Hands-on experience with web technologies, APIs and modern frameworks.
  • Understanding of video streaming concepts or eagerness to dive into media tech.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience creating technical content (blogs, tutorials, docs or videos).
  • Strong empathy for developer frustrations and challenges.
  • Passion for helping others succeed and developer engagement.
  • Experience in developer communities, forums or open source projects.
  • Natural networking ability and relationship-building enthusiasm.
  • Creative problem-solving and willingness to experiment with new ideas.
  • Legal right to work in the UK long-term; sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

We are looking for a Developer Advocate with a creative flair to join our Product Management team and help shape the future of how developers build with premium streaming infrastructure. This role is ideal for an early-career technologist who thrives at the intersection of complex technology and developer empathy--someone who can translate sophisticated streaming capabilities into accessible, delightful developer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Champion the Developer Community

  • Be the voice of developers within MK.IO, advocating for their needs and translating feedback into actionable product improvements
  • Build and nurture our developer community through forums, social channels, and direct engagement
  • Create and maintain feedback channels that ensure every developer voice is heard and valued
  • Drive the transformation of our documentation and learning resources
  • Design and create tutorials, guides, and interactive demos that makes MK.IO approachable for developers

Create Compelling Technical Content

  • Produce engaging video content, blog posts, and tutorials that showcase the power and simplicity of our streaming platform
  • Host webinars, speak at conferences, and represent MK.IO at developer events and meetups

Bridge Complexity and Simplicity

  • Work closely with our engineering teams to ensure new features ship with developer-friendly interfaces and clear documentation
  • Test and validate new features from a developer perspective, ensuring they meet our self-service standards
Desired Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Marketing or equivalent qualification, with a strong passion for technology and flair for creativity
  • Hands-on experience with web technologies, APIs, and modern development frameworks
  • Understanding of video streaming concepts or eagerness to dive deep into media technology
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
  • Experience creating technical content (blog posts, tutorials, documentation, or videos)

  • Passion for helping others succeed and genuine enjoyment of developer interactions
  • Experience participating in developer communities, forums, or open source projects
  • Natural networking ability and enthusiasm for building relationships
  • Creative problem‑solving skills and willingness to experiment with new approaches
  • Strong analytical skills to measure community engagement and content effectiveness
