Job summary

SSE is seeking a Developer to join the Energy Markets Battery Value Stream, primarily within a Scrum Team to design, build and support a battery trading application. You will collaborate with Data Scientists, DBAs and Application Support engineers to evolve the application as part of a One Battery Platform.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and supporting enterprise applications using technologies such as Python, C#, JavaScript, .NET or similar modern development frameworks.
• A solid understanding of software engineering principles, including testing, version control, code quality and secure development practices.
• Exposure to cloud technologies and DevOps ways of working, with experience of Azure and ideally Databricks, CI/CD pipelines and automation considered highly beneficial.

The role

Located with the Energy Markets Battery Value Stream, you'll primarily be assigned to a Scrum Team, implementing and supporting a battery trading application. You will be working with Data Scientists, Data Base Administrators and Application Support engineers to help develop an existing application and its potential redevelopment as part of a One Battery Platform Approach.
