Job description

Role Overview:

As a Developer at Unity5, your role is to facilitate the delivery of work from the product backlog, which includes new features (customer enhancements and strategic business requirements), bugs, and technical debt, prioritized by the Product Owner. Your responsibilities include coding, code review, testing, and releasing into production, ensuring high-quality code with attention to performance and security.

We seek someone who is sympathetic to our existing technologies and processes but also eager to help evolve them to support the company's growth in an egoless manner.

Responsibilities include:

  • Exercise exceptional problem-solving ability
  • Demonstrate high competency in PHP and version control (Git)
  • Show aptitude for PHP web frameworks
  • Understand high-level architectural designs and patterns
  • Manage releases effectively, using Jira or similar tools, and maintain traceability through version control
  • Employ appropriate coding design patterns and mitigate anti-patterns
  • Follow and suggest process improvements, embracing change
  • Build comprehensive end-to-end solutions
  • Communicate effectively with team members, management, and the Product Owner
  • Work positively within an agile team, respecting other roles and systems
  • Take ownership of work units through their lifecycle, contributing to planning from both technical and functional perspectives
  • Practice "fail fast" mentality and learn from mistakes
  • Mentor junior team members and support management

Experience in Python/Java is a plus but not essential.
