What You'll Be Doing:

• Provide strong technical direction
• Lead a small team of developers
• Implement the technical vision and manage technical deliverables
• Own multiple components of internal/external microservices, including merchant onboarding portal, SaaS services, and core acquiring platform
• Collaborate with engineers, leads, and architects on platform architecture, integration, performance, and security
• Contribute to product design, architecture, system reliability, and scalability
• Ensure best engineering practices such as CI/CD, TDD/BDD, automated testing
• Promote the adoption of effective tools for development tasks

What You'll Bring to the Role:

• Proficiency in Java/J2EE, OO & service design in JSON or RESTful APIs
• Strong knowledge of Java 8+ and Spring/JPA
• Experience with CI/CD, TDD practices
• Experience with relational databases and SQL tuning
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SDLC
• Experience with containers such as Kubernetes and Docker
• Microservice design and development, REST, JSON, XML
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks like Angular or React

Your Benefits:

This is a remote-based role, open to candidates anywhere in the UK (must have the right to work and live in the UK). In the future, the role will be based in London, with bi-monthly travel to the office.
