An established industry player is seeking a substantive Detective Sergeant to lead the Fixed Intelligence Management Unit. We welcome applications from substantive Detective Sergeants for the post of DS – Supervisor Fixed Intelligence Management Unit (FIMU) covering Kent.
As a DS in the Fixed Intelligence Management Unit (FIMU) you will provide supervision guidance and leadership in the Counter Terrorism (CT) Intelligence Management Unit, ensuring the professional and consistent management and quality control of all intelligence and information that enters and leaves the CT Intelligence Management Unit. You will also be responsible for supervising the development of intelligence to manage threat and risk in relation to matters within the CT remit.
You will have experience in the broad field of intelligence supervision including risk management, as well as excellent communication/interpersonal and leadership skills. You must be able to work under pressure with effective time management skills.
Our Intelligence department operates 24/7 and supervisor roles are expected to support the provision of an on call function. There is an expectation that while this role is allocated to a post with a specific brief and detailed knowledge is required, it is also expected that the post holder maintains a broad overview of the wider CT remit, context and priorities. The brief will change according to the operational priorities of the Department.
Please note that this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the south east region and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.
Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary for the successful candidate to obtain and maintain vetting level DV together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past ten years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.
