Job summary

Aviva is seeking a Detection Engineer to design, build and tune detections in Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR, strengthening how we detect threats and respond. You will work with the Cyber Security Engineering team and partner with SOC, Threat Hunting and Incident Response to ensure telemetry is reliable and detections are effective.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience creating and tuning detections in Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR.
• Strong understanding of log pipelines, schema mapping and telemetry quality (ASIM).
• Experience using KQL and scripting (PowerShell or Python) to automate and improve detection workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and tune detections in Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR to improve visibility and response.
• Collaborate with SOC, Threat Hunting and Incident Response teams to ensure telemetry reliability.
• Continually improve coverage, quality and efficiency of detection engineering.
