Location: Birmingham
Contract: Initial 6-month contract

Hays is proud to be working in partnership with a local council to recruit a Destination Parks Site Manager. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to take the lead in shaping the future of some of the city’s most valued parks and green spaces.

About the Role:

As the Destination Parks Site Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of key parks within the council’s portfolio. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality, accessibility, and sustainability of these vital community assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and deliver a long-term vision and operational plan for allocated parks and green spaces, aligned with city-wide priorities.
  2. Oversee infrastructure improvements, conservation projects, and initiatives to enhance park assets and biodiversity.
  3. Create engaging, inclusive visitor experiences that attract diverse audiences and encourage repeat visits.
  4. Engage with local communities and stakeholders to co-create events, activities, and initiatives that reflect local needs and aspirations.
What You’ll Need:
  1. Proven experience in parks or green space management, ideally within a local authority or public sector setting.
  2. Strong leadership and project management skills.
  3. A passion for community engagement and environmental stewardship.
  4. Ability to manage budgets, contractors, and multiple priorities effectively.
