Job summary

DS Smith is recruiting a Despatch Technician for its Fordham, Newmarket site. The role involves forklift operations, palletising incoming goods from manufacturing, and ensuring smooth movement through take-off lines to meet customer delivery schedules.

You will work on a 12-hour shift pattern, with days and nights rotation starting at 06:00 or 18:00. The team emphasises safety, efficiency, and on-time product delivery in-full across a major packaging operation.

Qualifications

• Forklift and warehouse operations in a safe, compliant manner.
• Ability to work on a 12-hour shift pattern, days & nights, rotating.
• General warehouse duties requiring attentiveness and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts in line with SSOW and policies.
• Palletise goods correctly as they arrive from manufacturing.
• Manage machine supplies to minimise downtime.
• Ensure take-off lines are efficient to avoid back-up.
• Record product movements using IRF scanning systems.
• Load trailers to maximise trailer utilisation with customer constraints.
• Support post-manufacturing flow to deliver on-time in-full to customers.
