Job description

Warehouse Operator/Fork Lift Driver

We are looking for an experienced individual to join our shift-based Despatch department as a Despatch Technician – L2.

Reporting to the Despatch Team Leader, you will be responsible for operating machinery and relevant lifting equipment to ensure the safe and proper handling of product through from our factory to warehouse storage/goods vehicles.

With a focus on health and safety processes, you will lead by example, ensuring that quality standards are met at all times, highlighting areas for improvement and reporting good practices to management.

We are ‘Redefining Packaging for a Changing World’ and it’ll be within your remit to review the current process with an open mind, challenging the way in which we do things in order to continually improve productivity, costs, and efficiencies. You will be conscious of deadlines and will work to ensure that our orders are handled to the highest standard.

The perfect candidate would have:

  • A positive attitude towards compliance with all operating procedures and safe systems of working.
  • Experience of operating equipment within the despatch environment (FLT, Press & Baler operations).
  • The ability to work well and effectively under pressure to meet daily objectives.
  • Experience of working under your own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of the importance of paying attention to detail.
  • The ability to promote and maintain good standards by example.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Experience in complying with all safe systems of work, ensuring safety comes first.
