Job summary

DS Smith Plc is seeking a warehouse/despatch operative to join our team. You will operate a forklift, palletise goods, and ensure accurate movement of materials through the despatch lines while adhering to health and safety policies.

You will support loading and unloading activities, use scanning systems to track movements, and help maximise trailer utilisation. A proactive attitude and reliability are essential for on-time, in-full deliveries.

Qualifications

• Forklift operation and safe handling in a warehouse environment.
• Adherence to Health & Safety SSOW policies.
• Ability to palletise received goods correctly and prepare them for take-off lines.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift as part of daily warehouse tasks.
• Ensure goods are palletised for take-off lines and moved efficiently.
• Maintain correct stock movement and record using IRF scanning systems.

Key ResponsibilitiesFork-Lift Truck Operations

• Ensure all activities within the warehouse (and external stores) are carried out in line with current Health & Safety SSOW and policies
• Ensure product received from manufacturing is correctly palletised through to the take-off lines.
• Ensure that machine supplies are managed to their correct levels to minimise any machine downtime.
• Ensure take-off lines do not back-up through effective movement of product to the loading bays or warehouse.
• Correct use of IRF scanning systems to ensure product movements are correctly recorded.
• Allowing for customer restrictions, load trailers in the most effective way to maximise trailer utilisation.
• Support manufactured volume flow through effective post-manufacturing process controls to deliver product on-time in-full to the customer.
