Job summary

Cranswick Gourmet Bacon is seeking Despatch Operatives / Order Pickers for a chilled environment. The role involves accurate picking, labelling and despatch of goods, with 4 on/4 off shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

You will work closely with the team to ensure on-time delivery and maintain strict hygiene and safety standards. Ideal candidates are reliable, proactive and able to work under pressure, with good communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Reliable, punctual and proactive with a strong sense of responsibility.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with accuracy.
• Flexible and adaptable with a positive attitude.
• Reach Truck or Counterbalance licence is advantageous but not essential.
• Experience in order picking, despatch or warehouse operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately pick and prepare orders for despatch in line with customer specifications.
• Ensure products are correctly labelled and recorded before loading.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency to meet daily despatch targets.
• Operate safety-approved handling equipment (Reach Truck/Counterbalance) where trained.
• Support stock rotation and inventory control within the despatch area.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors for smooth workflow and communication.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment per site hygiene standards.

About the Role

We are looking for motivated and reliable Despatch Operatives / Order Pickers to join our growing team at Cranswick Gourmet Bacon.
This is a key role within our logistics operation, ensuring that all goods are picked, checked, and despatched accurately and on time to meet production and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately pick and prepare orders for despatch in line with customer specifications.
• Ensure all products are correctly labelled and recorded before loading.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency to meet daily despatch targets.
• Operate handling equipment safely (Reach Truck or Counterbalance) where trained and authorised.
• Support stock rotation and inventory control within the despatch area.
• Work closely with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and effective communication.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment in line with site health and safety and food hygiene standards.

About You

The ideal candidate will:

• Be reliable, punctual, and proactive, with a strong sense of responsibility.

• Be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
• Be flexible and adaptable, with a positive attitude.

• Comfortable working in a chilled environment – full protective clothing and warm gear will be provided.
