Job summary

Pilgrim’s Europe in Grantham is seeking a Despatch Operative to join our team. You will unload inbound fresh and frozen vehicles, load outbound vehicles and ensure stock is moved safely within the warehouse and freezer.

The role requires working in a chilled environment, lifting and moving products safely, completing paperwork accurately, and adhering to food safety and company policies. Shifts are 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 on weekdays with weekly rotation.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse or logistics experience preferred.
• Experience working in chilled or frozen environments is desirable.
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced operation.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to lift and move products safely.
• MHE licence (Shunter, Reach Truck, or PPT) desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Unload inbound fresh and frozen vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Load outbound vehicles accurately in line with dispatch schedules.
• Move stock within the warehouse and freezer using pallet trucks or Reach Truck where authorised.
• Carry out picking, put-away, replenishment, and stock rotation activities.
• Ensure products are stored correctly and maintained at the required temperatures.
• Complete all relevant paperwork and system transactions accurately.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping within warehouse and freezer areas.
• Adhere to all food safety, health & safety, and company policies.
