Job description
Overview

As a Despatch Operative you will be part of a high-performance team both delivering and supporting other functions to meet challenging department, team and personal goals. You will complete all cold store functions including loading milk tests to trailers and sending them to customers across the UK, using voice-picking devices and picking loose bottles to fulfil customer orders, conducting physical inventory, housekeeping duties and looking after our robots.

Responsibilities
  • Work to high standards to achieve departmental targets in quality, efficiency, waste and cost reduction.
  • Actively contribute and seek continuous improvements to achieve departmental targets.
  • Resolve minor breakdowns and carry out basic maintenance and asset care.
  • Ensure full completion of daily targets and adherence to departmental procedures with records maintained.
  • Contribute to team reporting and decision-making processes.
  • Ensure quality, hygiene, health and safety standards are met and regular audits are conducted.
  • Promote effective communication and good working relationships with colleagues.
  • Maintain high standards of work ethics regarding lateness and absences.
  • Maintain strict food hygiene and health & safety standards within the department.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify or raise issues before they become problems; perform basic maintenance tasks and fault diagnosis.
  • Undertake cleaning requirements in line with cleaning schedules.
  • Operate voice-picking of loose bottles to ensure customers receive all required product.
  • Load milk trolleys on trailers mechanically and manually.
  • Work with state-of-the-art technology, such as Automated Guided Vehicles.
